New appointment, at the City of the Other Economy, with the Natural, Organic and Biodynamic Wines of the VAN – Natural Craftsmen Winegrowers.
After the previous edition in March (we talked about it HERE), again gathered in Rome dozens of Natural Craftsmen Winegrowers (Vignaioli Artigiani Naturali) to present their productions to the general public. An audience that responded with great enthusiasm, such as to make our work difficult. In these cases it becomes quite difficult even to approach the tasting counters, if not after a long wait, and the dialogue with the producers is just as difficult. But all this is still a good sign … about the constant increase of interest towards the Good Drinking in general and towards organic, biodynamic and natural products in particular.
We will not dwell here on the principles that animate the VAN, given that we have already done so in the previous article.
As mentioned above, there were many companies present, some of which completely new to us and others we mentioned in previous articles. We have thus had the opportunity to “explore” other territories and other vinifications or varieties of vines.
Moreover, it was possible to taste the excellent cheeses of the Azienda Agricola Rotolo Gregorio di Scanno (AQ) or to take refreshment with the tasty dishes (strictly Bio) of Il Bistrot di Graziella.
Before going on to our evaluations, it should be remembered that due to the intrinsic characteristics of natural productions, the variability of the final results should always be taken into account. There may therefore be considerable organoleptic and/or qualitative variations between one vintage and another, but this is the price that must be paid to be able to practice natural viniculture. After all, however, this becomes a kind of “surprise” game, to be faced in joy and with knowledge spirit
All this to underline that, in addition to the fact that our judgments are completely personal, readers will be able to (when tasting different vintages of the wines indicated) really taste almost another wine … even with the same name and from the same producer.

Note: The number of tastings from the various producers is exclusively linked to the case and the variations of the moment. For this reason in some cases we taste different wines from a producer and maybe, only one from others. We cannot taste them all, of course, and therefore also the choice of which producers to test is due exclusively to chance or to our desire to evaluate specific vines or terroirs.
