The Rose Drinking Festival – Rosa Rosati Rosè in Rome with the homonymous Guide and the Zosimo Wine Selection, at the Hotel Barcelò Aran Mantegna.
Another event dedicated to Italian Rosé wines, demonstrating the recent increased interest in this category, also here in Italy. In fact, we’ve been right last year when we too decided to dedicate a Special issue to these wines too (HERE)
We are in fact convinced that the varietal richness of our vines is able to offer high quality products, perfectly able to compete with those of other countries that now enjoy fame and honors all over the world. And it is not just a “theoretical” conviction, but supported by dozens and dozens of tastings that we have made even just in the last year.
From north to south (including the islands), new producers are always experimenting with rose vinification from vines never used in this sense until now and often, with excellent results. Events such as Rosa Rosati Rosè therefore have the merit of rewarding these productive efforts and, at the same time, of always stimulating new ones.
The presentation of the 2019 guide to the Rosé wines by Carmelo Sgandurra and Renato Rovetta, seminars, awards and tastings took place on September 27th / 28th at the Hotel Barcelò Aran Mantegna in Rome with an adequate public success.
Also in this case, we have noticed the presence of productive zones that in the past practically ignored this typology of wines, while today they present different variants and they always experiment new ones. To give an example, there were numerous companies in the Tuscan Maremma which, not only vinifying in rose varieties as widespread as Sangiovese, but also rediscovering almost lost autochthonous species, also thanks to the collaboration with the university institutions.
In conclusion, in addition to confirming the excellent quality level detected by our tastings, we can only wish ever greater attention from the great Italian public towards this sector which still has many surprises in store to offer.
