Interview with The Master. We couldn’t choose a better way to celebrate the first six months of a web magazine focused on excellence as iBESTmag is, than the interview we proudly offer today, to our loyal readers. Heinz Beck has been living for years in the Gotha of world food and never like this time we think that too many words of presentation are superfluous. We therefore limit ourselves to the essentials and then immediately move on to his long and fascinating interview by Daniela Barone.

Tradition and Science combined to produce Great Wines. Cantine del Notaio is a leading company in Italy’s wines production panorama: it is no coincidence that during the Vinitaly 2018 it received numerous awards for individual wines and as a producer was elected “Winery of the Year”. These are in addition to the over 600 prizes and awards already obtained both in Italy and abroad.
Praise of Beauty. A splendid 16th century manor house, immersed in an equally wonderful landscape, mainly intended for wine production, a stone’s throw from Lake Garda, make up the Villa Cordevigo Wine Relais. A very exclusive relais, where you can breathe “Beauty” in every moment, both because of the structure of the villa itself, and because of the natural environment that surrounds it.
Interview with Michel Drappier. It ‘s been natural for us to interview Michel Drappier for iBESTmag: in fact during a reportage carried out some years ago, in the Champagne region, at the time of the harvest, we had the pleasure of visiting the Maison Drappier (Urville), tasting its extraordinary wines and meet him personally.
Santa Severa’s Castle (Rome). In the historic setting of the Santa Severa’s Castle (Rome) the third edition of IOVINO was held on May 6/7th and presented to the public and professionals an impressive number of wines (more than 500 labels from about 80 producers) from Marche and Campania.
A Tour to discover hidden Treasures. With this article we inaugurate a new section of iBESTmag, which will be dedicated to travel suggestions. Our suggestions, aimed at satisfying the needs and desires of the most demanding readers. We will therefore propose a cultured, refined tourism, focused on the natural and artistic aspects of the territories, as well as to eno-gastronomic ones, therefore in line with our mission: the search for quality. Quality and excellence that do not necessarily have to be surrounded by media clamor or internationally renowned for being such. Very often, indeed, they are small businesses designed […]
Luxury Boutique Hotel in Puerto Vallarta – Mexico If you are looking for something truly exclusive, intimate and quiet, nestled in a beautiful golf course (designed by champions like the legendary Jack Nicklaus) overlooking the Pacific Ocean, characterized by the colors of its sunsets and those of Mexico well, Casa Velas in Puerto Vallarta (known tourist resort of the Bahia de Banderas) is just right for you.
Interview with le “Roi des Éclairs”. The sweet journey of a “Pâtissier” different from any other. So Christophe Adam begins to tell his life. A long journey that from his native Bretagne, led him to become one of the stars in the pastry (and not only) worldwide. From the prestigious Le Gavroche in London, to the Hotel Crillon in Paris, up to the long years spent in the “temple” of the Parisian pastry, Fauchon (with important assignments, from Head Pastry Chef to Creative Director), a series of increasingly formative experiences, combined with his passion and his endless imagination, have […]
A “Secret” Luxury Hotel in Chelsea. Almost hidden in the heart of Chelsea, a late 19th century building in typical Victorian style, awaits the most demanding visitors looking for luxury, elegance and discretion. A place to feel as one’s own, as if it had always been a family.
An Italian (Sommelier) in Paris. Another interview, another excellence! This time we’ll talk with Gabriele Del Carlo, Sommelier in Paris, at the Four Seasons Hotel George V and twice winner of the Italian Sommelier Championship, with the two most important associations in the sector (2011 AIS – 2017 ASPI).
Art with a View A particular hotel, the Upper House in Hong Kong: recently built (2009) and located in the beating heart of Pacific Place, was conceived as a place to “retire”, through a vertical journey from the confusion and the stress of the big metropolis.
An Eden on the Sands. Shangri-La: an imaginary place born in 1933 from the pen of James Hilton who, in his novel “Lost Horizon“, describes it as an Eden hidden somewhere … in Tibet. Since then, the term has entered the myth and the collective imagination, as a synonym of Paradise Lost.
Interview with Enrico Bartolini. When we decided to dedicate this web magazine to excellence, we did it thinking to moments like this. We are therefore happy and honored that a Chef of the fame of Enrico Bartolini, dedicated us a small part of his precious time to answer an interview that we now proudly offer to our readers.
Being in the Right Place. The Hotel Stendhal & Luxury Suites in Rome, contains in itself two different souls: the first, more classic, is that of a hotel linked to tradition and the past, both in the furnishings and in the name itself, evocative of the characters and artists that once made Rome a fundamental stop on their Grand Tour in Italy.
Team’s Day 2018 @ MAXXI – Rome. When we talk about excellence in the wine and food sectors, we often do not immediately think of all the realities that these worlds make up. In fact, the production chain would not make any sense if there was no commercial one to support it. The products, as valid and high quality, must be able to reach the final user in a world, however, where it is increasingly difficult to emerge and establish its own market. Distribution agencies therefore play a fundamental role in the success of a winery or food business.

Victoria Jungfrau Grand Hotel & Spa – Interlaken: What Else? Jungfrau (the Virgin): only the name is evocative of untouched alpine landscapes and a world, that of the Belle Époque, when hiking (and elite) tourism began on the majestic peaks of the Alps. Places made famous by crowned heads, bourgeois and artists of the time who stayed in these places, or made it the theater of their writings (e.g. famous the Adventure of Tartarino of Tarascon, the semi serious hero born from the pen of Alphonse Daudet).
By Spirit of Scotland. Another important event in the prestigious setting of the Salone delle Fontane in Rome. This time the undisputed protagonist was the Whisky (or Whiskey as they call it in Ireland and U.S.A. ). The Rome Whisky Festival 2018 by Spirit of Scotland was staged on March 3rd and 4th.
The Street Art Hotel. Let’s take a rationalist building (formerly Palazzo Philiphs) in the center of Milan, a big Israeli hotel chain (Fattal Group), a collection of street art at the highest levels, which decorates the 12 floors and the 300 rooms (including 21 suites) and here the NYX Milan is born from this mix.
Delights from the Cantabrian Sea. Santoña, a small town of “only” 12,000 inhabitants that overlooks the Bay of Biscay, of the Cantabrian Sea, in the north-east of Spain, is famous in the world and well known by gourmets. Apart from the modern tourist vocation, it is in fact a place where the delicious fish products from that sea have always been worked. The white tuna (Bonito del Norte) but, especially the Anchoas del Cantabrico, can not miss the tables of the most demanding and refined gourmets.
A Luxury B&B | Fiber Art Studio by Luisa Longo, in the heart of Trastevere When we say in the “heart” we are certainly not exaggerating: the B&B Buonanotte Garibaldi of Rome is in fact a few meters from the Porta Settimiana and Via della Scala. The extraordinary Palazzo Corsini Museum, on Via della Lungara, is just as close, as is the Botanical Garden.
Food and Wine Excellencies of a Region that Deserves to be Better Known. The event was held on February 18th, organized by the Simposio Trionfo del Gusto. And when it comes to Excellence, iBestmag is always there, whether it’s hospitality, drinking, or food. In this case wines, cheeses, cured meats, olive oil and sweets were the protagonists of the day. Tintilia and Caciocavallo di Agnone have made the lion’s share of them all. Respectively a wine and a cheese that best represent the typical Molise.
The Heaven in Front of You. Santorini: in our opinion, a place that embodies the archetype of Mediterranean Spirit. The extraordinary view of the Caldera, the white buildings on the steep coasts of the island, the blue domes that recall the color of an infinite sea, the light … that light that makes everything different and unforgettable. Everything contributes to making this island the dream of many travelers.
The Best Italian Wines 2018. An event like that organized by Luca Maroni, held in Rome in these days (Feb 15th to 18th), really happens to inaugurate the “live” activity of iBestmag. The subtitle of the event is in fact “The Excellencies on Display”, just as excellence is the cornerstone of our Mission.
A Journey through the Distilleries of Islay and Skye. When iBESTmag was not yet a web magazine, some of our collaborators made a Press Trip to Scotland and precisely, in the islands of Skye and Islay, where they produce some of the most popular and appreciated Single Malt Whisky brands . Because the concept we want to express in this magazine is linked to quality, choice and selection. In short, the pursuit of good drinking, be it tied to a wine, a distillate and why not, to a good craft beer.
A Design Hotel Just Beside the Tiber. A youthful and dynamic environment, embellished with design elements and strategically located to easily visit many of the most significant places in Rome, gives life to Luxury on The River. In fact, in just a few minutes walk you can find yourself in front of Castel Sant’Angelo, St. Peter’s Basilica, the Ara Pacis and Trinità dei Monti.
A Princely Stay in Rome: Ruspoli Bonaparte Residence. Directly in the historic heart of Rome, where Via del Corso and Via dei Condotti cross, stands the sixteenth-century Palazzo Ruspoli, designed by the architect Bartolomeo Ammannati. A building where history can almost be touched by hand.
